We aren’t even halfway through The Block 2022 and it has been revealed that Channel 9 producers have bought the properties for next years season!
Bye bye Macedon Ranges – hello Hampton East!
The Block 2023 will be set in Charming St, Hampton East with 5 traditional brick family homes.
Producers splashed out $14.3mil for the five properties with rumours of a demolition project.
The homes at No. 14, 16, 18, 20 and 22 on the Charming St were sold to Channel 9 owned company Micjoy Pty Ltd in early July.
20 Charming Street was the most expensive property – being purchased for $3.5mil for 707sqm of land.
Charming Street is not a cul-de-sac, which means that the setup will likely resemble Regent Street Elsternwick for The Block 2017.
The Block first appeared in Hampton in 2021 with the Fans V Faves season. No doubt the producers missed the close proximity of the houses which allowed for more contestant drama compared to the 2022 season were houses are kilometres apart.
Applications for the 2023 season are not yet open – though casting director Lucky Price is teasing that they may be open soon.
